The winner will be offered a two-book contract with Joffe Books

In conjunction with bestselling author Dorothy Koomson and literary agent Susan Yearwood, Joffe Books is looking for manuscripts from unagented crime writers of colour.

Authors submitting for the prize may be debut, self-published or previously published novelists, but must not be agented. Manuscripts may be submitted in any genre of crime fiction, including cosy mysteries, psychological thrillers, chillers, suspense, police procedurals and noir.

'I think crime fiction in all its glory could really benefit from more stories by traditionally underrepresented writers out there,' said Dorothy Koomson. 'This competition is one way of doing that. I’m so excited to be a judge on this and can’t wait to read the submissions.'

To enter, send a completed, full-length manuscript, a synopsis and an author biography.

The closing date is 30 September.
