The winner will receive £1,000 and the top six stories will be published to the InkTears readership

The runner up will receive £100 and four highly commended writers will each get £25.

The InkTears Short Story Contest is for original short stories between 1,000 and 3,500 words. Stories may be either unpublished, or previously published in print or online as long as the author still owns the copyright and there is no exclusivity with the prior publication. Include a brief bio with entries that includes the full publication history of any story submitted.

InkTears sends out a short story each month to readers who have signed up. It sources the stories it publishes from its two annual competitions, for short stories and flash fiction.

There is an entry fee of £7.50 per story.

The closing date is 30 November.
