Creative writing competition: Grindstone International Novel Prize 2022

The first prize is £1,000 in the competitition for unrepresented and unpublished novelists

The Grindstone International Novel Prize is inviting entries of the first 5,000 words of full-length fiction manuscripts by writers who are unrepresented and unpublished, unrepresented and self published, or previously published but currently unrepresented.

The winner will receive £1,000. There is a runner-up prize of £500 and four shortlist prizes of £125. All the longlisted entries will be forward to Grindstone Literary-affiliated agents.

Manuscripts may be finished or part-finished, and have a finished or projected-finish length of at least 50,000 words. Include a brief synopsis with the first 5,000 words.

The entry fee is £16 up to 1 May, £18 to 1 July and then £20.

The closing date is 1 October.
