Entrants are randomly assigned genres to write their mash-up stories in the £1,000 prize
The Globe Soup Genre Smash competition is for original, unpublished short stories up to 5,000 words that mash up two different genres.
The genre pairings are: Western + Horror; Regency + Thriller; Alternative History + Fantasy; Urban + Fairy Tale; Isekai + Crime, and Dystopian + Romance. Genre pairings are randomly allocated to entrants when they buy their tickets.
The winner will receive £1,000.
The entry fee is £5/£9 late entry.
The closing date is 23 October.
