The competition from The Petersfield Bookshop is for ghost stories with a sense of their writer's place
For this contest honouring the tradition of telling literary ghost stories at Christmas, entries are invited of original, unpublished ghost stories that draw on the history, folklore and landscape of the place where the writer lives.
Each writer may enter one story, up to 2,500 words.
There is a first prize of £100, and two runner-up prizes of £50.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 23 November.
