Creative writing competition: Fish Short Story Prize 2021

The annual competition has a first prize of €3,000

The Fish Short Story Prize is a major international contest for fiction up to 5,000 words.

The winner will receive €3,000 and a five-day short story workshop at the West Cork Literary Festival. The second prize is a week at Anam Cara Writers' Retreat and €300, and the third prize is €300. Seven honourable mentions will each get €200. All top ten stories will be published in The Fish Anthology 2022 and the writers will be invited to read at the West Cork Literary Festival. This year's judge is Sarah Hall.

Enter original, unpublished short fiction in any style or form, up to 5,000 words.

The entry fee is €20 online and €22 by post.

The closing date is 30 November.
