The theme for this year's award for underrepresented writers is 'X'

The free-entry Creative Futures Award for underrepresented writers in the UK is in three categories: poetry up to 50 lines; fiction up to 2,000 words; creative non-fiction up to 2,000 words. In each category four prizes will be awarded:

 • Platinum: £75 and professional mentorship

• Gold: £50 and full manuscript assessment

• Silver: £25 and partial manuscript assessment/coaching

• Bronze: Six months digital membership to Writers Online and poetry or prose critique.

There is no entry fee. Each writer may submit one piece of writing, on the 'X' theme. The competition is only open to underrepresented writers in the UK.

The closing date is 14 May.
