Creative writing competition: Benjamin Franklin House Literary Prize

The annual competition for fiction and non-fiction is for writers aged 18-25

Writers entering the annual competition are asked to explore the contemporary relevance of a quotation from Benjamin Franklin. This year's quote is:

'Without Freedom of Thought, there can be no such Thing as Wisdom; and no such Thing as as publick Liberty, without Freedom of Speech.' Silence DoGood, No.8, The New-England Courant (1722)

There is a first prize of £750 and a runner-up prize of £500. Winning entries will be published on the Benjamin Franklin House website.

Enter original, unpublished fiction or non-fiction between 1,00 and 1,500 words.

Entry is free. Each writer may submit one entry.
