Win £500 for fiction up to 5,000 words in the international story story contest

Short Fiction journal has relaunched its competition in affiliation with the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex. This year's judge will be Jon McGregor.

The first prize is £500 and there is a runner-up prize of £250. The two winners will be published online by Short Fiction.

Enter original, unpublished prose fiction up to 5,000 words.

The entry fee is £7 for entries submitted in January and February, and £9 for entries submitted in March.

The closing date is 31 March.
