Have a Lovely Time family travel website is calling for submissions for a Beautiful Britain writing competition
The competition is for a non-fiction account of a family trip, which should be no longer than 800 words. The first prize is £200, an English Heritage family day pass to a property of your choice, and a copy of Travelling with Children by Catherine Cooper. The second prize is a weekend break at the Park Inn in York, plus the family pass and the book, and the third prize is the family pass and the book. Ten entries will be shortlisted and readers will be able to vote for the winner of an additional Readers' Prize.
Entries should consist of a Word document, the first page detailing name, address, phone number, email and blog and writing site URL if you have one. The following pages should consist of the manuscript, with a title but without identifying details, double spaced and typed in 12pt Times New Roman
The deadline is 1 October, and the first entry is free, with a £5 fee for each subsequent entry.
