British writers of colour are invited to submit stories, essays and poems to issue 4
The Good Journal is a literary quarterly set up by writer Nikesh Shukla and literary agent Julia Kingsford following on from the award-winning essay collection The Good Immigrant.
All UK writers of colour are welcome to submit, and submissions are particularly welcomed from unpublished, new and emerging writers. Submissions may be essays, articles, fiction (short stories or novel extracts), creative non-fiction, poetry, comics or photo essays. Prose submissions may be between 1,000 and 3,500 words and poetry submisssions up to 3 poems. Each writer may send one submission. All submissions must be previously unpublished.
Issue 4 of The Good Journal will be edited by Diana Evans.
Submissions are paid at £150 for a story or essay and £50 for a poem.
The closing date to submit is 15 March.
