Appletree Writers have a call out for stories, poems and micro-fictions inspired by speaking in or speaking out
Prose should be up to 2,000 words. Poetry may  be up to 50 lines, and flash fiction up to 500 words. All entrants may interpret the theme of speaking in, or speaking out, as they wish.
Longlisted entries will be published in Appletree Writers' Speak! anthology. Shortlisted writers will be invited to read their work at the Appletree Writers event at the Edinburgh Fringe. Overall winners will receive a ticket to all Appletree Writers' events at the Fringe, including a writing workshop with Sheree Mack.
There is a £3 fee for each entry.
The closing date for the Speak! competition is 31 March.
