Two British authors are in the shortlist for the 2015 Man Booker Prize
The other four writers on the shortlist are resident in the USA.
The shortlist is:
• Marlon James (Jamaica), A Brief History of Seven Killings
• Tom McCarthy (UK), Satin Island
• Chigozie Obioma (Nigeria), The Fishermen
• Sunjeev Sahota (UK), The Year of the Runaways
• Anne Tyler (US), A Spool of Blue Thread
• Hanya Yanagihara (US), A Little Life
Tom McCarthy was previously shortlisted in 2010. He is the only author to have been previously shortlisted.
The longlisted writers who did not make the shortlist were Marilynne Robinson, Anne Enright, Bill Clegg, Andrew O'Hagen, Laila Lalami, Anuradha Roy and Anna Smail.
The winner of the £50,000 Man Booker Prize will be announced on 13 October.
