The first of this spring's writing masterclasses from the Royal Society of Literature and the Booker Foundation is on reviewing literary fiction with Peter Kemp

The three-hour masterclass with Peter, who is chief fiction reviewer for The Sunday Times, will take place on 13 April at Somerset House in London at 10.30am.

The second masterclass, with Ruth Rendell on 22 June, will be on crime writing.

Each masterclass will be for a maximum number of 14 people. Tickets cost £60, or £30 for RSL Fellows and members. The workshops are open to writers of all levels.

Application closes at 6pm on 1 April for Peter's class, and on 27 May for Ruth's class, after which a selection of places will be made by ballot.
