Any new writer of any age can enter.
To enter, upload a piece of writing between 100 and 5,000 words. Entries may be any poem, short story, blog post or piece of writing that you are particularly proud of.
The Build Your Own Blog New Writer Scholarship has been set up by blogger, copywriter and ghostwriter Matthew Loomis (pictured).
'We won’t automatically discard an application from someone who has years of experience, but we are not looking for published writers,' said Matthew on his Build Your Own Blog site.  'Instead, we hope the applicants will be people with little to no published works, or those who have a blog lacking visitors. A general example of an ideal candidate would be someone retired from factory work and now they want to try out that writing habit kept secret for years. That is just one example. If you know your writing deserves more recognition, you are likely a good candidate.'
The closing date to enter the the Build Your Own Blog New Writer Scholarship is 29 November.
