Proposals are invited from women writers in the east of England for texts exploring the life of one woman and her relationship to place
Four women writers entering the ABOUT commissioning competition will receive paid time to write their short (4,000-word or half an hour long) texts. The commissions are worth from £950 to £1,500. The project is supported by Arts Council England and the winning writers will be mentored by Words and Women.
The competition is for women writers based in the east of England. Proposals can be about any woman, factual or fictional, contempoary or historical. She does not have to be famous. The place has to be in the east of England.
The closing date is 26 September.
