Four Northern artists will receive a commission to create an 8-minute piece for The Verb that includes a spoken word or written narrative
The selected artists will receive a development package that includes a bursary of £2,500, a creative development workshop, mentoring and creative collaboration and an Arvon creative writing course. If BBC Radio's The Verb commissions the work, there will be a fee of £300.
The Verb New Voices 3 is particularly interested in artists who integrate multimedia forms into their work.
To be eligible, artists must be resident in the North of England (the area covered by Arts Council England in Yorkshire, North East and North West). Artists from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
To apply for Verb New Voices, submit a proposal, an outline of previous artistic experience, a sample of up to ten pages of writing and an example of work using other media.
The closing date is 1 March.
