The new prize from Film and Video Umbrella is for critical writing or reviews of artists' work using moving image, film or video
The award is in honour of Film and Video Umbrella's founder, writer and critic Michael O'Pray, who championed avant-garde and experimental film and video-making.
The new Michael O'Pray Prize is aimed at new writers who have not had more than three articles published, in print or online. The winner will receive £500 and their article will be published in Art Monthly. To enter, send original, unpublished writing up to 2,500 words.
The closing date is 16 May.
