Worthing WOW World of Words Festival invites applications for a writer in residence for its Jane Austen Worthing exhibition
The exhibition will explore the links between Jane Austen and Worthing. The writer stayed there in 1805 and parts of her unfinished last novel Sanditon are said to have been based in the town.
A writer in residence is sought who can deliver a creative writing workshop and produce a reflective piece of work by the end of the exhibition. The writer in residence will receive a free pass (worth £100) to all events, workshops, walks and talks during the residency, and a fee for the writing workshop.
The residency will take place between 23 May and 7 June. Applications are invited from amateur and professional writers, who may be poets, fiction writers, playwrights or any other kind of author.
To apply, send two writing samples, a writing CV (if possible) and an outline of any workshop/teaching experience by the closing date of 24 April.
