Residencies at the Generator Hostel, Venice, begin in January, with travel, accommodation and meals provided. Applications are welcome from writers, poets, spoken word artists and visual artists. ...
Aiming to support artists by granting use of their spaces, resources and by providing a platform to showcase their work, the Generator Residency Program will take up to three creative types to Venice for up to six weeks in January. It follows a successful first residency programme in Berlin.

The three lucky participants – who could be writers, poets, spoken word artists, photographers or visual artists – will receive travel from any EU city, a private room with internet access, meals, studio space at the hostel and basic raw materials. They will be free to produce any work they choose, but will be expected to leave one permanent piece of work at the hostel, in addition to contributing at least one weekly blog post, and allow visitors into the studio at pre-arranged times.

The three residencies are: six weeks, starting 10 January; four weeks, starting 24 January; two weeks, starting 7 February. All three culminate on 22 February, during the Venice Carnival.

Applications close on 9 December. To apply, you should supply examples of recent work, and explain why you are interested in the residency, at the website.
