Open the door to a new piece of work in this week's creative writing exercise

Set the timer for five minutes and create a mind map or list of ideas stemming from 'wardrobe'.

Circle or highlight anything that interests you. Set the timer for five minutes and do a free-write.

Use the remaining time to draft a poem or flash fiction story. (Don’t worry if a wardrobe doesn’t feature in your finished story.)

Thinking of tackling a longer writing project Read our step-to-step guide for starting a novel for beginners.
