Turn your attention to detail in this week's creative writing exercise

Either look at a picture of frost, or, even better, examine it in real life.

Where is the frost? What does it look like? Feel like? What texture is it? What colour is it, and what effect does it have on the colours around it? What forms and shapes can you see in it?

How does it affect your mood/feeling? Does it spark any memories?

Note down your initial ideas - any words or phrases that spring to mind that convey the detail of your frost. How can you use these starting points to develop a piece of new writing?

Then, craft a short passage of prose or a poem describing the frost.
