Find an underlying theme to give your writing resonance in today's exercise.
Start writing about a character's daily routine. Sketch them in words and begin to show how what they do reflects their character.
Now, decide on an underlying 'discovery theme' that you can explore via this character. Examples might be 'the significance of a childhood memory', 'a mistake that changed everything', 'the environment' or 'our relationship to the natural world'.
Once you have your character and your underlying discovery theme, start making notes and see where it takes you.
